JOB VISION (potential)

PLANT OPERATIONS DIRECTOR acts as the company’s most senior local PROJECT strategy representative being responsible for the following overall A-Z long-term key project lifecycle:

... LEADING CORE PROJECT & OPERATIONS TEAMS
... COMMUNICATION WITH KEY CUSTOMERS and their decision makers
... PROCESS QUALITY & PROJECT MILESTONES checks

PLANT OPERATIONS DIRECTOR manages both the process and people functions of defined program/projects´ entity and has direct responsibility for project status and deadline oriented achievements. He reports hierarchically to the Country Manager as well as functionally to the operations cluster Vice President.


JOB ROLE (competence set)

• Manages and delivers the overall key project objectives (company & Customer) Safety, Quality, Cost, Timing, Profitability & Cash
• Manages and ensures the projects plan and total development budget is in accordance with the agreed Statement of work
• Responsible for the profitability of the projects and sets targets for the projects core team members to achieve as defined
• Manages the (internal/external) perimeter change process and ensures the project budget (hours, investment and PRU) is updated
• Ensures that the optimum technical and manufacturing solutions/choices are made by the project team to meet the “design to target cost” project objectives
• Manages project development expenditure versus the planned project budget and identifies any deviation to the agreed project budget (hours, investment and PRU) and takes appropriate actions to realign
• Manages the cash flow of the total development budget (inclusive of tooling/other costs) and is the only project team member who can authorize payment to suppliers respecting company´s procedures and terms
• Responsible for ensuring the contribution and actions of all projects team members to the manufacturing readiness process to achieve a non-event launch
• At the end of the project: determines the status against the original project objectives Quality, Cost, Timing and feeds back lessons learned
• Is company´s accountable representative of the project for the customers and responsible for the coordination/management of all the project team members communications to the customers
