AT&T is seeking an experienced hands-on Principal Analytics Developer with the chops to design and develop Data Analytics solutions for the AT&T Business – Global Operations & Services business unit.
The candidate is expected to leverage a diverse dataset to deliver unprecedented value to our customers.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about and have experience of developing Big Data Advanced Analytics for the telecommunications industry (preferred, but other domains/industry experience considered), modern-day frameworks, tools and languages, such as Apache Spark, Scala, Apache Zeppelin, and fluent in software development best-practices (e.g. OOA/OOD, Agile/Scrum methods, test-driven development, etc.).

As an integral member of the Analytics development team, you will specify, design and develop critical performance insights, transformations, aggregations and Machine Learning models within AT&T Big Data Platform (in batch, on-demand and streaming execution modalities) that address specific business needs. You will thrive in creating solutions to real world problems, and seeing the results of your work deployed at truly impressive scales within AT&T for a variety of use cases and customers.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and software skills, be proficient in object-oriented analysis and design, and have the opportunity to work with large-scale data sets in a Big Data environment, to enable complex industry-wide problems to be solved innovatively by applying cutting edge solutions, machine learning techniques and models.

Location: Bratislava OR Kosice, Slovakia
Contract: Permanent position
Working hours: US shifts (approx. from 2pm-10,30pm)
Workplace designation: flexible (remote or office based on agreement with hiring manager)

Requirements for the employee

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

• Experience in professional product software development design and implementation.
• Hands on experience in developing software, utilizing Big Data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, HDFS ,spark-SQL, Hive-QL ,Python and Data frame operations.(extremely desirable).
• Hands-on experience with Hadoop applications (e.g. monitoring, debugging, and performance tuning).
• Experience in Analyzing system bottlenecks, Existing infrastructure and propose solutions to eliminate them. (extremely Desirable)
• Experience in Performing object-oriented analysis, design, development and debug using Python, YARN , SJS , Mesos or ELK Stack.
• Experience in implementation of large database with a good understanding of cluster and parallel architecture as well as high-scale or distributed RDBMS and/or knowledge on NoSQL platforms.
• Experience in performing detailed analysis of business problems and technical environments and designing the solution.
• Experienced and committed to delivering high-quality software using industry best practices (e.g., test-driven development, Agile product development methods, Continuous Integration, DevOps, etc.).
• Regular working knowledge of Linux/UNIX, and industry tools; Git, Eclipse or IntelliJ IDE, Jenkins, and Apache Spark, Apache Zeppelin, R/RStudio (desired but not essential), Python.
• Knowledge or exposure to Mobile Wireless technologies and protocols (e.g. LTE, UMTS, VoLTE, etc.) desired, but not essential
• Organized, proactive and self-starter, with strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
• Collaborative / team player
• Thirst for continuous learning and desire to look for innovative and creative solutions to problems
• Highly motivated to work within a close nit fast-paced agile product development team, working with local and remote teams.
