Head of Funding & Grants / Director of Funding Strategy

Our client is seeking a senior-level funding professional to take ownership of the strategic design, coordination and leadership of public and EU-funded projects across the organisation.

This role is not about administration or individual grant writing alone.
It is about building and leading a funding strategy, shaping project portfolios, and acting as a key partner to senior management, project leaders and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will set the standards, define processes, and lead a team responsible for securing funding from European, national and regional sources.

Key responsibilities:

• Define and continuously develop the overall funding strategy (EU, national and local programmes)

• Identify relevant funding opportunities aligned with organisational priorities

• Lead and coordinate the preparation of complex grant applications (EU programmes, structural funds, national schemes)

• Act as a strategic partner to internal project owners and senior leadership

• Oversee and mentor a team of funding / project professionals

• Ensure high-quality project structuring, budgeting and compliance

• Represent the organisation in external partnerships, consortia and negotiations

• Monitor funding trends, policy developments and upcoming calls at EU and national level

• Contribute to long-term financial sustainability and project impact
