Job description, responsibilities and duties

As an Operations manager you will be able to get involved at all levels of the business, from solving manufacturing problems on the shop floor, through to working on financial strategies, budgeting, sales activities or managing your own improvement projects. It is an exciting and diverse function, and so are the opportunities.
• The Operations function is responsible for taking the designs, raw materials and plans and making our products a reality. When cost, safety and quality are all paramount, this can be quite a challenge,
• Within the Manufacturing and Production you will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing and construction teams to deliver to the best of their ability, helping to produce our cutting edge products in the most effective way, delivering to our customer at the highest quality, at the right time, within cost,
• Responsible for the technical management, supervision and control of industrial production processes run reliably and efficiently,
• Implement process improvements alongside the shop floor teams through root cause analysis and other lean manufacturing techniques,

Alongside this will be your role include:
• Develop and maintain project plans and budget profiles to ensure delivery of milestones to agreed cost targets and timescales,
• Formulating and successfully implementing company policy,
• Directing strategy towards the profitable growth and operation of the company,
• Representing the company to major customers, vendors and professional associations,
• Developing strategic operating plans that reflect the longer-term objectives and priorities established by the board,
• Putting in place adequate operational planning and financial control systems,
• Ensuring that the operating objectives and standards of performance are not only understood but owned by the management and other employees,
• Closely monitoring the operating and financial results against plans and budgets,
• Taking remedial action where necessary and informing the board of significant changes,
• Maintaining the operational performance of the company,
• Building and maintaining an effective executive team.
