Job description, responsibilities and duties

- Formulating and recommending manufacturing policies and programs which guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and profitability
- Directing and coordinating activities so that approved products are manufactured on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives
- Managing manufacturing and operating activities towards accomplishment of organization objectives
- Developing and recommending manufacturing and operating policy
- Being responsible for plan for capital expenditures for the plant to ensure that long-term growth, continuous improvements and manufacturing commitments are met by the plant
- Ensuring planning for necessary process improvements to ensure that the plant is able to meet production requirements in the most modern way
- Managing production, customer quality, distribution and on time delivery of customer orders in accordance with policies, principles and procedures established by the company
- Developing budgets, forecasts and investment plans
- Balancing short-term profit against long-term objectives
- Translating the company strategy into local strategic action plans
- Carrying out strategies, action plans and budget for the operation unit mutually established with the local management group
- Developing efficient and skilled organization with a clear assignment of responsibilities and duties
- Securing optimal usage of own resources
- Directing preparation of specifications for quality, quantity, delivery and service required for purchase of plant equipment, supplies and materials to meet production schedules and quality standards
- Facilitating Lean and Six Sigma processes to reduce waste and variability to ensure continuous improvement
- Ensuring that a two-tier succession plan is in place for the plant, developing, and utilizing leadership pipeline within the plant
- Ensuring observance of the quality management systems
- Formulating and installing standard manufacturing practices based on comparative studies of methods, costs and production figures
- Ensuring that the operational unit conforms to local and national governmental regulations and those set down by the Group
- Coordinating regular team reviews to make sure that necessary corrective actions are being taken on the basis of sufficient analyses and expert knowledge
- Arranging priorities and allocating resources to meet short-term and long-term objectives

Personality requirements and skills

- Proven track record in an operational/plant management role, in the manufacturing and automotive environment
- Very good understanding of manufacturing and related operational processes and procedures
- Good financial acumen, experience with budgeting and planning
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma tools, automotive quality requirements
- Experience with management and development of team members
- Active knowledge of English language (both written and spoken) - previous daily communication with a background of manufacturing and automotive industry
- Knowledge of Slovak language (both written and spoken)
- High degree of personal integrity and confidence
- Systematic approach in dealing with issues that challenge desired procedures or performance, while being mindful of the company´s objectives and KPIs
- High level of leadership skills
- Ability to analyze, interpret, organize, classify and structure multiple pieces of information and metrics accurately
- Solid judgment and decision-making aptitude in weighing relative cost and benefits of business actions (cause & effect mindset)
- Ability to “critically think” using logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different business approaches
- Ability to successfully function under pressure in a matrix style of management
- Excellent operation organizational skills couple with follow-up, problem solving, team building, and planning
- Ability to encourage high performance and support development of associates (team development and talent development)
