Information about the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

• Managing the whole production (injection molding processes and toolshop) to achieve targeted level of profitability, quality, and delivery service
• Leading Production Supervisors + Head of Toolshop, in total supervizing up to 60 people
• Having functional responsibility over maintenance and process to assure outstanding level of equipment stability, safety, ergonomics and cost efficiency
• Representing the plant in front of its customers and suppliers
• Managing the team in order to reach individual and collective objectives set
• Evaluating team members performance, setting continuous progress objectives, and assuring evolution of the team´s performance (training, promotion, job rotating)
• Ensuring compliance with all internal / external regulations
• Managing internal budget, being able to propose adjustment for the team personal and department costs, pending on planning demand
• Managing all company standards and facilitating the reporting to shared functions and to the Plant Manager
• Assuring highest level of security and safety in the execution of daily job, and maintaining similar level for the team members
• Understanding customer requirements and ensuring their application
• Assuring daily production in regards to customer demand and establishing production planning in compliance with corporate / site standards
• Tracking continuously the production performance, measuring any deviation, and developing action plans to keep targets
• Assuring daily personal adjustments to cope to the customer demand
• Establishing and maintaining outstanding working conditions for the staff
• Controlling and driving safety, quality, delivery and costs standards
• Escalating in case of deviations
• Applying continuous actions for scrap reduction, effectiveness increase
• Supporting industry 4.0 implementation
• Acting as operations representative in any new product programs
• Assuring pre-production for any new program, in respect with the corporate and site standards
• Establishing all actions to get a smooth start-up: being an active program team member, ensuring recruitment, training, standard implementation, TPM deployment, test and control, goals set-up, coordinating any open issues associated to production / quality and material management
• Developing, proposing and implementing all continuous improvement plans, piloting continous improvement working groups
• Making sure that all the team members are active in the continuous improvement plans
• Tracking continuously the quality performance (internal and external) towards targets, measuring any deviations, developing action plans to keep targets
• Meeting customers and suppliers to discuss all quality issues, improvement plans
• Tracking continuously the logistics performance (internal and external) towards targets, measure any deviations, developing action plans to keep targets
• Proposing operations budget (operations and capital spending)
• Tracking continuously the cost/profit performance, measuring any deviations, developing action plans to keep targets, addressing any budget over-run and coping to the departmental stretched budget
• Reviewing and reporting on a monthly basis the departmental budget
• Ensuring compliance with all the safety, security, cleanliness, 5S, ergonomics and environment rules, as well as all legal requirements
• Implementing safety and environmental corrective actions following any incident, accident or non-conformity result after an audit

University education (Bachelor's degree)

Personality requirements and skills

• Proven track of manufacturing related experience with hands on operational knowledge
• Experience in Operations Manager / Production Manager positions
• Knowledge of automotive process
• Experience with injection molding machines and toolshop
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing concepts, analysis, techniques, principles and practices (Kaizen, FMEA, PM Systems, material flow)
• Knowledge in LEAN manufacturing concepts and tools
• Clear understanding of budget related issues
• Experience with working in organizations with a strong safety culture mindset
• Fluent knowledge of English language
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, project software
• High level of leadership skills
• Targets-oriented, dynamic and polyvalent
• Strong aptitude and skill in organizational discipline, project management and analyzing and interpreting several types of data
• Ability to analyze, interpret, organize, classify and structure multiple pieces of information and metrics accurately
• Ability to critically think using logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different business approaches
• Ability to successfully function under pressure
• Excellent operation organizational skills coupled with follow-up, problem solving, team building, and planning
• Must be process driven and show assertiveness when completing assignments and other responsibilities
