Currently, we are hiring the POLICY OFFICER/MANAGER, who will be able to drive and coordinate advocacy activities and projects within AmCham policy strategic areas:
• Overall regulatory environment
• Rule of Law
• Public Procurement
• Tax Legislation
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS ARE:
Government relations:
• Regular professional formal communication with relevant public officials
• Informal relationship building with public officials in respective policy/advocacy areas
• Practical cooperation on the preparation of strategic policies (e.g. active commenting, co-drafting, stakeholder engagement, etc.)
Public relations:
• Relationship building with key private/non-profit institutions (business associations, academia, relevant NGOs, etc.)
• Active communication with external stakeholders
• Communication of relevant advocacy activities (in cooperation with PR/Media Coordinator)
Cooperation with members:
• Membership engagement in advocacy activities within AmCham committees
• Project management within respective committees
• Drafting joint policy papers/position papers & policy briefs
• Occasional membership recruitment
Event and Project management:
• Content creation of relevant content-related events including the annual flagship conference
• Oversight over successful execution of relevant content-related events (in cooperation with dedicated Event Manager)
• Financial sustainability oversight of selected content-related events (in cooperation with dedicated Event Manager)
• Overall responsibility for thematic projects in respective advocacy areas
• Content creation, coordination with external stakeholders, planning & delivery of activities

The American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) was founded in 1993 in Bratislava as an independent and self funded organization financed exclusively through the contributions of its members. In September 2003 a new branch of AmCham was opened in Košice to help foster economic development in the Eastern Slovak region.
