Job description, responsibilities and duties

American Medical Centers network is expanding its healthcare services and is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Administrative Assistant to join our team in Bratislava.

The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the healthcare team of our physicians and nurses delivering exceptional patient care at our new facility in Bratislava.​

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, be fluent in English and Slovak, and demonstrate flexibility and enthusiasm. Experience of living abroad is welcomed.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide administrative support to the healthcare team, including doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals.
  2. Manage and organize patient records, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  3. Schedule appointments and coordinate patient referrals with external healthcare providers as needed.
  4. Assist with billing and insurance claims processing, including verifying patient insurance coverage and collecting payments.
  5. Answer phone calls and emails, responding promptly to inquiries and directing them to the appropriate staff members.
  6. Prepare and distribute correspondence, reports, and other documents for internal and external use.
  7. Maintain inventory of office supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed to ensure adequate stock levels.
  8. Assist in coordinating meetings, conferences, and other events, including scheduling, logistics, and communication with attendees.
  9. Collaborate with other administrative staff members to ensure efficient operation of the clinic and timely completion of tasks.
  10. Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures, as well as local healthcare regulations, to uphold the highest standards of patient confidentiality and quality of care.


Qualifications and Experience:

  1. A bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or related field is preferred, but not mandatory.​
  2. Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  3. Proficiency in both English and Slovak languages, both written and verbal.
  4. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
  6. Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and electronic medical records systems.
  7. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and exercise discretion in handling patient records and personal data.
  8. Flexibility and adaptability to changing work demands and clinic priorities.
  9. Positive attitude, professionalism, and commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
