This role is part of New Joiner Support (NJS) team, under Joining Amazon services which ensures an end to end, frustration-free journey for the candidates. NJS supports candidates globally by entering their data into HR systems after validating them in recruiting systems, helping candidates transition from offer accepted to employee status. This includes creating accurate employee records, generating new hire paperwork, and obtaining and uploading eligibility documents, so that new hires are ready to work on Day 1.

A Sr. Specialist executes complex, highly regulated work. They act as a subject matter expert on specific programs or processes. The role requires data-driven judgment and Sr. Specialists are expected to promote a culture of ownership. Sr. Specialists may conduct audits such as quality assurance, design and deliver training, or own complex cases and escalations. Sr. Specialists work with a range of stakeholders in order to support day-to-day operations. They may act as a POC for their team for stakeholders such as Program Managers, or for issue resolution, and reporting.

Key job responsibilities:
- Be a Subject matter expert (SME) on New Joiner Support processes.
- Support and lead with in-country expansions and new country expansions.
- Mentor and lead Specialist within the team.
- Drive process/system improvements based on ongoing trends/gaps identified through quality review and other team performance related metrics.
- Maintain day-to-day administration of various processes and programs.
- Work with various stakeholders on projects, intakes and process improvements to successful resolution.
- Execute on assigned project components & drive low-medium impact projects under People Manager/Project Manager’s guidance.
- Play a vital role in understanding the impact for any process changes and transitions and ensure there is no impact for the process/customer.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and training on HR tools (People Soft, Ticketing, Recruiting Systems etc.) and processes.
- Collaborate with other Specialists on best practices and knowledge sharing techniques.
- Perform complex issue resolution when needed within the team across all countries while cooperating with other teams.
- Own the SOP’s and make sure they are reviewed at regular intervals, updated and provide the most current information.
- Gather and analyze data including confidential inputs, like metrics or escalations and coordinate ad-hoc operational reports, status updates & proposals on a need basis.

A day in the life:

Assist Team Managers, Managers, Service Managers closely and be the face of the processes you own.
Roll up sleeves and work with the team for any emerging operational challenges.
Collaborate with internal and external teams to drive process improvements.
Work with single or multiple countries and for all Amazon business lines.
Constantly display high integrity values while dealing with highly confidential and sensitive information.
Communicate with different stake holders involved in the onboarding process to track and update on any escalations/crisis situations.

Personality requirements and skills

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or an advanced college education in related field (Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Industrial Education or Others).
Proficient English and another European language.
3+ yrs of experience in HR or related field.
Prior experience leading expansion projects.
Prior experience of working/supporting projects in any role.
Ability to assess large data and create meaningful recommendations.
Prior experience in improving processes.
Excellent communication skills. Fluency in both written and verbal forms.
Computer literacy - Intermediate to Expertise level in Excel, Word, Outlook. Ability to assess large data and create meaningful recommendations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

2-5 years of work experience in HR/HR Shared Service Center/ similar role preferred.
Background or experience in working with HR processes, systems or tools.
Ability to handle simple projects using the Project Management principles and methodology.
Experience with reporting and analytics.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to push back, foresee potential issues, and advocate for relentless improvement.
Proven record of coming up with out of the box solutions.
Ability to positively influence small groups and individuals to drive resolution
Ability to work in fast paced changing environments.
Ability to collaborate with the team members and other stakeholders positioned in different locations and cultures.
