Tax Manager

Amazon is seeking for an experienced Tax Manager in the area of Excise Duties to perform a combined planning and compliance role as part of growing team in Bratislava.

The Amazon Tax Department is a fast-paced, team-focused, and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work with a high level of collegiality and be comfortable directly liaising with various finance, accounting, legal and tax teams within the company. You will need to be proactive enough to keep up with the pace of the business, be able to adapt to a changing environment, collaborate effectively with multiple teams in different geographies, and communicate effectively with business teams and senior leaders.

Key job responsibilities
Primary duties will include (as part of the team):
· Building up internal processes, identify efficiencies and prepare standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with Excise duty liabilities.
· Assist with preparing of tax calculations and related filings with respect to Excise & Local Consumer Taxes;
· Assist with related Excise/Consumer tax registrations across various jurisdictions;
· Monitoring of upcoming/new Excise & Local consumer taxes with an impact on Amazon's business operations;
· Engage regularly with business partners and external counsels to ensure that Excise Duty compliance is onboarded from Day 1 for new business & country expansions
