Information about the position
Job description, responsibilities and duties
A great team behind you. Big things ahead of you. IT'S TIME to aim high.
We are currently looking for paralegals/law students to join our team. The job position is primarily meant for students of law (2nd, 3rd or 4th year of study), but we may also consider hiring graduates who feel that they are well-suited for this position at this point of their career. In the past, we hired e.g. graduates from other jurisdictions who continued their studies of Slovak law while working here at Allen & Overy Bratislava, s.r.o.
As a paralegal at Allen & Overy Bratislava you will be required to:
- perform a detailed and comprehensive legal research (client-related as well as know-how);
- create first drafts of legal documents (from simple letters to courts or public authorities and simple corporate documentation to more complex statements, appeals, etc.) and being taught how to draft them correctly; all your outputs will be reviewed by an experienced lawyer;
- perform and assist in a due diligence process (i.e. in M&A deals paralegals review documents of a target company and identify potential legal issues);
- assist in an arbitration and litigation agenda (apart from basic drafting, paralegals also perform monitoring of court proceedings, deal with courts and other public authorities, inspect court files, and generally provide support of similar nature to our lawyers);
- assist on pro bono cases (proactive and individual approach is welcomed and highly appreciated);
- take part in marketing and client development events (such as Legal in-house club, Job fair, Open-day, etc.);
- prepare translations from / to English;
- expect and deal with some level of admin work too.
Applications together with the motivation letters and CVs in both Slovak and English can be submitted through the link:
