The Generated Gases Sales Specialist proactively develops and follows up on capital investment projects within our Generated Gases offering to meet our targets in deploying capital and investing strategically in profitable growth projects.

Air Products Europe is a highly profitable complex business servicing a wide variety of diverse markets through various modes of supply. To complement our strong liquid bulk, packaged and speciality gases market positioning Central and Eastern Europe there is now a drive to be the leading supplier of industrial gases through the Sale of Gas model, where we build, own and operate gas producing facilities at customer sites in Slovakia and Hungary.

LOCATION: South Slovakia
EDUCATION: Preferably a degree in Engineering
EXPERIENCE: Experience with project management, investment projects, commercial dealings and negotiations - must be commercially focused with technical thinking and attitude
LANGUAGES: English, Slovak and Hungarian
CONTRACT: Permanent

As the Generated Gases Specialist, you will
Actively develop a portfolio of Generated Gases opportunities and engage in a network to sustain this search
Manage activities associated with securing profitable existing Sale of Gas accounts across all Generated Gases product lines and all industry sectors.
Represent the centre of expertise for merchant selling resources in Generated Gases commercial and technical matters.
Lead cost and revenue optimization activities on existing generated gases assets (Asset Management)
Provide sales leadership in winning new business in accordance with defined objectives to ensure that both the individual and the group meets or exceeds its targets for sales revenue, volume and return on investment.
Lead complex negotiations and provide commercial direction to the Air Products team seen by the customer
Apply advanced proposal development and demonstrate strong presentation skills internally and externally to gain approvals and eventually to win business
Understand the details of the generated gases product lines
Apply Air Products' business analysis principles of discounted cash flow and P&L alongside the European Generated Gases Business Development Strategy consultant to asses new business opportunities
Make effective use of the technical expertise and existing customer relationships offered by other business areas
Ensure the sales/engineering bid teams meet the respective procedures and protocol and approval processes


As the Generated Gases Sales Specialist, you already are or have
Degree in Engineering
A detailed technical understanding of the product range (almost certainly assisted by an engineering background and previous experience in a technical sales role)
Experience within a business area or senior selling experience (it would be beneficial if you have experience within a similar industry)
A sound grasp of cash flow analysis and related financial tools
Proven commercial and negotiation skills to provide the required level of direction and input to customers, other sales teams and the engineering or operations teams
Leadership skills to ensure the mature commercial direction
Project management skills to drive and progress complex business opportunities
Ability to communicate at all levels and to handle multiple internal and external demands and commitments, in both formal and informal approach
Excellent English language skills (spoken and written) are essential
Knowledge of Slovak, English and Hungarian are necessary
Ideally based in South Slovakia
