JOB DESCRIPTION
For our our Business Centre in Bratislava, Slovakia we are currently seeking to recruit a
Purchasing Commodity Manager (m/f)
Objective of function:
- To be responsible for the assigned region strategic sourcing for a defined commodity / sub commodity such as Seat Structures & Mechanisms, e.g. tubes, coating, stampings, roll forming, lead screw and spindle drives
Design the perfect sourcing footprint for the commodity / sub commodity, define the roadmaps and make it happen
Your responsibilities:
Ensure the cost-, quality and time-oriented supply of all Adient plants with the required goods, materials, equipment’s and services under compliance with the respective business plans, budgets and targets.
Design optimal supply base
Control and approval of all strategic advanced and operational purchasing activities and decisions for production within the commodity organization
Coordination of purchasing targets with the managing board and the related departments
Lead, motivate, support and develop purchasing staff members relating to the Commodity core teams
Development, coordination and steering of purchasing strategies for all plants that consume commodities
Control and improve purchasing controlling and cost analysis to guarantee savings and cost tracking
Support of proper Make or Buy decisions
Support efforts concerning supply base rationalization and supplier development
Guarantee compliance with BOS, PLUS, POS and SOX procedures
Leverage of purchases across all BU’s
Structuring and bundling of global and regional aspects within the Commodity organization
Improvement of program-profitability as well as of all purchasing activities for the purposes of continuous improvement through global sourcing, long/life-time reductions etc.
Global- and cost-oriented purchasing of goods parts or services for the production within the Commodity Organization. Strategic management of the commodity / sub commodity
Co-ordination of all advanced and operational Purchasing activities within the Commodity organization starting from phase 0 and over lifetime.
Meet or exceed profit plan goals related commodities: Cost Savings, economics, quality, supplier rationalization, MBBP % content and other agreed objectives
Budget-/ cost center responsibility/ project sum: $100-150 million
Your qualifications:
- University degree or equivalent technical education
- Extensive experience within automotive or commodity related industry
- Several years’ experience as Purchasing Manager Direct Purchasing
- Operational and strategic involvement
- Excellent communication skills
