Press launch interface engineer in Nitra

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage progress, and delivery of tooling press facilities whilst ensuring compliance with targets for performance, quality standards, program timing and cost.
• Operate as subject matter expert and ‘owner’ of an assigned portfolio of tooling, providing regular, structured updates on performance, quality, timing and cost.
• Support tooling outcomes by ensuring that the design phase maximises panel quality and overall ‘hits per hour’ performance.
• Ensure tooling complies with agreed JLR standards and meets or exceeds target press facility performance.
• Assume responsibility for all aspects of panel dimensional and cosmetic quality as well as fit for purpose build.
• Manage the interfaces with Product design, Toolmakers, assembly, Quality during early build and launch phases.
• Develop and report on KPis agreed with the Press Tool Engineering Manager.
• Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time
• Establish a professional, engineering interface with product design and tooling vendors to ensure robust management of engineering change with minimal impact to the project outcomes.
• Co-ordinate updates to process planning, tool designs and checking fixtures for approved changes.
• Confirm change funding approval.
• Project manage externally sourced engineering changes.

Succesfull candidates posses:
• A thorough understanding of press tool design, methods and technologies.
• Knowledge and familiarity with key processes, facilities and technologies used throughout the pressed parts process chain.
• Able to deal with complex technical situations and identify clear navigational paths through them.
• An ability to work with Tooling suppliers from Eu and Asia
• A good level of business acumen.
• The ability to understand route cause issues using problem solving tools
• Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
• The ability to work in cross functionally teams.
• Proven experience and understanding of press shop processes, equipment and leading technology
• Ability to generate effective solutions to technical stamping challenges
• Ability to understand the needs, desires and aspirations of competing customers
• A sound engineering, manufacturing or project background
• An appropriate qualification in related engineering discipline
