Our opportunity
 
We are seeking a Senior Technical Expert for Business Intelligence to join our Data Delivery organization within Group Operations and Technology.  In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of Data Delivery services and contribute to and advise on the development and support of applications by understanding the requirements of customers and recommending application performance improvements, to ensure alignment with business requirements.
You will play a key role development of processes and lead the implementation of systems and process improvements in infrastructure, architecture, ensuring IT solutions align with medium-term business objectives and looking ahead to understand future technology options for the business. You will Provide technical guidance and recommendations as a subject matter expert in relevant area of IT, in order to support the resolution of the most complex customer cases and develop precedents to improve customer service
 
Your role
 

As Senior Technical Expert BI, your main responsibilities will involve:

• Lead a specific application portfolio according to Service Level Agreements by providing support and executing tasks during the monthly rollover

• Independently collate and analyze data using pre-determined tools, methods and formats and make recommendations in order to support the decision making processing

• Investigate and assess internal customers technical issues related to the assigned application as well as manage each case to a successful resolution, working in conjunction with IT colleagues and directly with internal customers where necessary

• Create solution descriptions and provide estimates for Change Requests

• Report overall application service performance to the Service Manager proactively taking action to address issues and gaps with the business

• Review and analyse IT project performance using standard reporting tools and highlight discrepancies against plan

 

Your Skills and Experience
 

We are expecting a deep knowledge and experience in BI technologies, a strong ability to efficiently manage events in a way to prevent disruption of business operations and to proactively communicate with business stakeholders.  Your skills and experience will ideally include:

• University level education or equivalent

• Prior experience working in a financial services environment desirable, preferably insurance

• Service Management certification (e.g. ITIL) preferred

• Over 3-4 years of relevant BI experience, with strong functional and technical background in Microstrategy. 

• Technical background in Informatica PowerCenter and/or SAP BW is a plus

• Effective communication, presentation and relationship management skills at different levels and in a multicultural environment

• Ability to work effectively in a global organization, under time pressure and to manage ambiguity

• Fluent in English (spoken and written). Further languages preferred
