Job description, responsibilities and duties

• Operation and administration of Windows servers
• Build and operate of virtualization (VMware) environments incl. the provided systems
• Troubleshooting problems within the environment
• 2nd and 3rd level on-call support in non-office hours
• Keep the environment documentation accurate to comply with the security and operational standards and procedures
• Participates in design planning, proposal of alternatives; support during implementations, including documentation.
• Handle Incident, Problem and Change management tickets in accordance with SLAs

Personality requirements and skills

• Knowledge of and hands-on experience with MS Windows Server of current versions (2008R2, 2012R2)
• Very good knowledge of and experience with VMware vSphere 6.x
• Knowledge of and basic experience with VDI based on VMware Horizon View
• Knowledge of and hands-on experience with MS Windows Server related configurations, including Clustering, WSUS, Terminal Services (RDP-TS)
• Knowledge of MS Windows Active Directory and related services: Network & network services (DNS, DHCP), print services and Network based (NAS) as well as Windows based file systems are beneficial
• Experience with server hardware platforms is welcome (HP, Cisco UCS, Fujitsu)
• Knowledge of MS Windows scripting languages and use of command line (PowerShell)
• Willingness to perform on-call support
• Good communication skills and ability to efficiently work in a multinational teams and projects
• Experience working in an ITIL oriented company is a plus
• Willingness to travel on short business trips abroad
• Willingness to learn new technologies
• German language skills are a plus
• Certifications related to the requested skills are a plus
