• supporting the CE Privacy Lead Manager and Group Privacy team in full delivery of the CE Privacy Compliance Programme by ensuring its effective implementation and BAU operations across CE;
• being familiar with privacy risks and controls that are required for achieving the desired level of privacy compliance;
• monitoring the level of compliance of Tesco CE Business Units (including related entities – where and if applicable) with the GDPR and relevant local laws, and being committed to spend enough time with ensuring such level of privacy compliance, e.g. providing regular trainings to colleagues;
• providing expert guidance and advice to colleagues across CE with regards to personal data processing and contracting, regulatory investigations, incident management, privacy impact assessments, customer/colleague data management etc.;
• raising awareness around and promoting a healthy data protection culture within Tesco CE Business Units (and related entities – if and where applicable);
• being truly independent of conflicts of interests;
• having good and effective relationships with relevant CE/Group functions such as People, Customer, Legal/Compliance, Technology, Retail Operations, Comms etc.;
• understanding how privacy risks can be managed across CE in a practical and sustainable manner;
• developing privacy policies, guidelines, processes, trainings and controls;
• supporting the CE Privacy Lead Manager and key local/ Group stakeholders whilst managing regulatory investigations and requests for information regarding CE Business Units’ personal data processing and other activities;
• horizon scanning of data privacy risks in CE;
• acting as an “end-to-end” local Data Protection Officer (DPO).
