Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are looking for an Operations Analyst for our Group Tax Operations team which supports regional colleagues with reporting, analytics and data management.
You will have opportunity to support various direct tax processes. You will be core team member during tax reporting process and gain global overview about income tax processes across multiple tax jurisdictions. You will act as business partner for regional tax managers and support them in review of quarterly tax results and preparation of corporate income tax returns.

Main Responsibilities

Your key accountabilities in this role would be:

• Performing elements of Swiss Re Group Tax processes and deliver outputs within financial reporting to local tax teams based in multiple jurisdictions
• Performing analytical review of outputs provided to local tax teams
• Identifying and implementing operational improvements and other efficiencies in Swiss Re Group tax processes
• Undertake balance reviews and ensure tax items are reconciled
• Establishing proficiency in Swiss Re finance and IT systems
• Liaise with internal finance departments
• Participating in tax projects where needed

About the Team

Group Tax Operations team directly supporting regional teams in multiple tax jurisdictions of Swiss Re Group. The team supports income tax compliance process for companies in various tax jurisdictions (UK, Slovakia), Quarterly US-GAAP reporting and Solvency II reporting and helps Group Tax team in identifying and implementing process improvements. We as a team participate and chip in the projects related to automation of the processes, UAT testing, IFRS transition.

Qualifications and Competencies

You will have the following:

• University degree in the area of finance, accounting or similar with a minimum of 3 years of experience in tax or accounting

Strong analytical skills with interest in information system, reports and data

Enthusiastic, prepared to learn and advance in technical competence and general skills base

Excellent social and communication skills with ability to share knowledge with colleagues

Able to build links with local tax and finance teams in multiple jurisdictions

• High-energy, prepared to assist where required

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with a willingness to learn new computer programs

• Fluent in written and spoken English

• Occasional travelling to other Swiss Re offices
