Information about the position
Job description, responsibilities and duties
The General Ledger Accounting Team (GLAS) is responsible for supporting Swiss Re European, American & Asian branches with accounting, controlling and reporting activities. All is done according to internal guidelines and different accounting valuations including US GAAP accounting policies, local branch accounting policies and local tax requirements. We seek possibilities to further develop, streamline and improve the team's delivery processes. Further, we ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and audit requirements.

- Internal & External Audit
- Provide timely and accurate Non tech accounting, controlling, and reporting tasks according to internal guidelines, including closing and reporting of defined entities
- Ensure timely booking of accruals, payroll, fixed assets, VAT, WHT, intercompany recharges (including their settlement), and other non-technical accounting activities
- Support financial controlling of selected entities with focus on group requirements (payable/receivable signoffs, reconciliations for the accounts under the ownership, and related tasks)
- Provide accurate financial information to the management to enable timely and current decisions to be made
- Financial reporting to local tax teams
- Ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and the audit requirements
- Support audit activities and prepare requested information
- Participate and support Finance related projects and perform ad hoc tasks as required
- Identify and evaluate process improvement possibilities

- Minimum of three years of work experience in accounting/financial reporting
- Qualification in Accounting, Audit, Finance and/or university degree in Economics, Science or Business Administration
- Basic understanding of accounting processes, risk and controls
- Experience in the use of standard bookkeeping software for financial accounting. Experience with SAP is an advantage
- Good comprehension of MS Office
- Team player with good communication skills
- Engaged and motivated
- Fluent English written and spoken
