Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are an agile organization designing and maintaining software solutions for the Chief Security Officer (CSO) organization of Swiss Re. These serve the needs of information security as well as identity and access management (IAM), for example: processing joiners and leavers, managing access rights, authentication and authorization. Our mission is to provide reliable services and first-class experiences to clients across the Swiss Re group as well as our partners and B2B customer organizations.

You will join the CoE DevOps and Reliability Engineering, a team currently building and implementing a monitoring and alerting solution for the IAM applications in the CSO organization. The team is based in Bratislava (SK) and works closely with colleagues also in Zurich (CH), Riga (LV) and Munich (DE).

As Site Reliability Engineer you will:
- Use DevOps tools to maintain infrastructure as code, automate changes and implement CI/CD.
- Fix, improve, and advance infrastructure while solving problems.
- Collaborate with team members to plan projects and analyze requirements.
- Identify and eliminate toil
- Help migrate CI/CD pipelines from Bamboo to Azure DevOps

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

- You have a higher education degree (at least B.Sc.) preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other comparable specialization
- You have 3+ years of relevant work experience
- You have demonstrated experience of IT operations, system administration or other applicable experience
- You have experience with agile software development methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban), CI/CD processes, automation for release and deployment processes, and DevOps
- You are a self-motivated person with methodical, organized approach
- You are proficient at prioritizing tasks and driving objectives to completion, and report any impediments
- You are flexible and open for new tasks and continuous learning
- You demonstrate good communication skills in spoken and written English.
- You are committed to work in a decentralized team and with people representing different cultures.

Ideally you also bring with you some of the following skills, knowledge and experience:
- Understanding of technology solutions for information security and IAM
- Proficiency in one or more programming and scripting languages (e.g. Java, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell, ..)
- Proficiency in SQL, web applications, Linux system administration
- Experience with cloud technologies (public, private, hybrid)
- Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Hands-on experience managing infrastructure in cloud environments and using automation, configuration management and provisioning tools (e.g. Terraform, Puppet, Azure DevOps)
