Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are adopting IFRS standard in 2024 and transitioning to a newly accounting system and we are looking for committed professionals into our newly built Central team who want to take part in building and being responsible for the new processes. The team's focus is on global portfolio rather than entity specific reporting. The successful candidate will supervise the main aspects of the judgmental portion of IFRS / US GAAP standard requirements over the whole portfolio of financial assets, primarily related to classification. Key Accountabilities:

•  Develop a deep understanding of data flow, system landscapes and system interactions impacting the IFRS 9 and US GAAP processes. Provide timely insight and resolution helping to ensure a smooth and quality flow of information through the accounting & reporting life cycle;
•  Analyze the terms of newly acquired investment products to determine their accurate treatment as per the requirements of the relevant accounting standard (i.e. the SPPI (solely payment of principal and interest) test; POCI (purchased or originated credit impaired), Investment company determination assessment; Application of Variable interest entity consolidation model requirements; Classification checks over equity investments)
•  Lead automatization initiatives and cross-collaboration with other teams (Data management, Accounting advice, Middle-office) related to overseen agenda
•  Support other activities in scope of the Central team on as needed basis (substantiation of weekly PnL results and IFRS 9 Expected automatization initiatives,).
 
About the Team

The Global Investment Reporting team has the ownership of the financial accounting sub-ledger for variety of investment products (fixed income securities, equities, derivatives, private debt, money market loans, etc.), related valuations and reporting.

Personality requirements and skills

• 3-5 years' experience in Finance, Accounting, or Audit with focus on investment or banking industry. You can apply this investment product knowledge in a new environment to make a positive impact and seek for constant improvement;
• You have worked before with IFRS, US GAAP or local statutory principles and can put them into practice by performing independent analysis of the contractual terms and interpretation of accounting policies that would be critical in the asset classification assessment;
• Curious problem solver with desire to understand the root cause of things. You have strong analytical skills, understand and can explain the key drivers behind the investment financial results • You have good interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with various departments participating on the process;
• Proficient in English - verbal and written communication.
