Job description, responsibilities and duties

Join a team of cybersecurity professionals and help Swiss Re to fulfil its mission in making the world more resilient. As the Workplace Security Architect, you'll be tasked with architectural design and overseeing technical implementation of improvements to our workplace environment. What's more, you'll be working in a hybrid setup, perfectly balancing work from home and the office premises.

About the team

The Security Team is the focal point for all security activities across Swiss Re. We are responsible for cybersecurity engineering and operations, governance, risk and compliance, and defining as well as advancing the company's security strategy. As a part of the Security Team, the Security Advisors Centre of Expertise shapes the security of Swiss Re's public cloud domain, drives initiatives to improve the security on our workplace environment and is the unit of choice for security-related advice on any IT project in the company. We're looking for a senior expert who is familiar with security concepts and architectures in Microsoft's Windows and Office suite.

In your role, you will…

• Develop practical and versatile security requirements, architecture blueprints and processes for the application and solution landscape in our workplace environment
• Advance technical and organisational workplace security competences and adopt to emerging security trends (leading proof of concepts, for instance)
• Review, advise on and approve security concepts for a variety of digital solutions across Swiss Re's business landscape
• Build and maintain relationships with key decision makers inside Swiss Re's architecture teams driving long-term workplace- and office adoption as well as connecting with Swiss Re's developer's communities

University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

- Significant knowledge of major cybersecurity concepts, technologies, and standard methods as well as willingness to dive into new areas
- Can-do attitude with proactive approach toward challenges, producing tangible results
- Deep expertise within several of the following cybersecurity areas:

- Network security
- Modern authentication and authorisation protocols
- Endpoint Security (Windows)
- Browser Security
- Mobile device security
- Microsoft Workplace and Office products in enterprise-grade configurations
- Data Leakage Detection and Prevention
- Zero-trust networks
- Familiarity with the implications of security standards in regulated environments
- Solid grasp of existing application and service development, familiar with agile application development processes and the security challenges that come with it, particularly for endpoints used by the developer communities.
- Feeling comfortable with leading through sophisticated conversations across multiple partners in a consulting and mediating way
- Ability to communicate in a clear, empathetic, and solution-focused manner and to independently create appropriate documentation
- Excellent communication skills – being fluent in English, both spoken and written

Nice-to-have
- CISSP, CCSP, SANS GIAC or similar security qualifications
- Endpoint Security (iOS, iPadOS, Android, macOS)
- German or Chinese language skills
