Job description, responsibilities and duties

This role is a key position within iptiQ's EMEA L&H IT team and a unique opportunity to build and enhance our new Digital Platform. The team and technology play a key role in helping to foster a culture of technology excellence, automation, digitisation and better exploitation of data to further enable and accelerate iptiQ's growth ambitions. We are looking for a passionate Product Owner for a part of our digital platform with strong agile product management skills who will drive the further development of our platform for one or more business domains as part of a multi-disciplinary agile development team.

Key Responsibilities

• You capture requirements with business owners
• You take ownership for refining the requirements of your domain from a
business and technical perspective
• You liaise with different business teams to ensure requirements are complete
• You're able to abstract requirements coming from various stakeholders, defining product business solutions and liaise with your agile team to transform them into platform capabilities and features
• You define the mid-term and long-term roadmap for your platform domain(s) in collaboration with other domain owners and the overall platform product management
• You ensure team resources are correctly allocated and uphold standards
• You synchronize with other domains to jointly develop cross-domain features
• You help to investigate the cause of production issues and propose possible solutions
• You prioritize, maintain and update user stories

iptiQ opens up attractive new risk pools through insurtech operating entities (OEs) within the primary insurance). As wholly owned businesses of Swiss Re, our shared mission is to help close the protection gap in the market and provide digital insurance solutions, primary insurance knowledge, new tools, and insights that will help reach new markets and offer new products.

As part of iptiQ, the Platform Team collaborates with the iptiQ OEs to support them in achieving their commercial goals by delivering innovative and effective digital capability for their distribution partners.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

Professional Experience:
• University degree (Master's equivalent) in a relevant field (e.g. computer science, business administration)
• At least 5+ years working in a similar role, bridging business and IT
• Experience managing end-to-end introduction of new technologies
• Experience in business analysis and as a product owner
• Have driven standardization of business domain capabilities
• Have improved efficiency of the development process
• Experience working on an Agile (e.g. with SAFe) project and collaboration tools
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team oriented agile environment
• Experience in the primary insurance industry, ideally in protection products is a plus.
• Familiarity with modelling techniques like ERM, ARIS, UML is a plus

• Ability to coach and bring the team together in implementing new ideas
• Communicates with impact, and effectively influences across the tech and wider business stakeholder community
• Thinks practically in defining solutions balancing business needs with technical
• Establishes, maintains and develops strong relationship within the OEs teams
