Job description, responsibilities and duties

As Financial Specialist Support you will be responsible for monitoring of reconciliation of investment sub-ledger and reporting of financial instruments for our legal entities.

We are multi-valuation department. What is in there for you? You can gain the knowledge for USGAAP, statutory standards worldwide as well as regulatory reporting standards such as Solvency II.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with external provider and partners from different Swiss Re departments.

Main Duties:

You will understand different type of investment instruments in investment sub-ledger in order to verify and review data received from external provider without being responsible for the booking, reconciliation and submission itself.
You will collaborate and cooperate with external provider on more complex tasks and projects with aim of reaching our goals and targets.
After the reconciliation, you will verify and distribute monthly and quarterly reports to our internal clients within asset management as well as regulators, auditors and any other business partners.
You are going to increase the knowledge when it comes to different accounting standards and regulations.
You will analyse and substantiate the weekly US GAAP P&L movements related to all financial products in the market.
You will control that financial instruments are accurately reported based on respective accounting standards (US GAAP, Solvency II and Statutory standards).
You will cooperate with internal clients and respond to ad-hoc queries on time.
You will also perform other position related tasks as instructed by team-leader and be open to take challenges related to position.


About The Team
The Global Investment Reporting department was established in 2009. We have 6 teams with more than 40 members in total.

And what we do? It might be clear from the name: investment reporting. Our investments range from fixed income securities and listed equities through more interesting products such as private equity investments, hedge funds and derivatives. However, we are not only responsible for accounting & reporting of investments. We are also in charge of many projects, reviewing accounting standards, doing process innovations and what all of us do every single day - we work with numbers.

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

- Preferred students 3th/4th grade (ideally in the area of Accounting / Finance, Banking)
- Finance/Accounting experience is an advantage
- Language skills: English proficient written and spoken
- Very good comprehension of MS Office (e.g. Excel, Word, Power Point)
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking
- Teammate with a strong communication skills
- Flexible and open for new tasks/challenges, willing to learn
