Job description, responsibilities and duties

About the Role
The position holder is accountable for cost related accounting and reporting relating to assigned entities including provision of information to other areas of the Swiss Re Group for tax and regulatory purposes. To include assistance with policy setting, process improvement, identification and implementation.

Your job will include:
- Account for and contribute to the production of monthly/quarterly/annual accounts for assigned entities and branches
- Payroll, compensation and related benefits accounting and associated balance sheet entries and reconciliations where appropriate
- Handle, or control, balance sheet reconciliation processes where not controlled by other Finance team
- Prepare VAT / equivalent reporting for VAT / equivalent managers (including reconciliations)
- Prepare reporting for the various jurisdictions served by Finance
- Processing and overview of end to end intercompany recharge processing and related activity, i.e. accounting for intercompany recharges in and recharges out and International Assignee accounting / processes in conjunction with the Intragroup Service Model team. All associated reconciliations
- Transactional level reporting to the business as required from time to time
- Assisting in policy setting and process improvement identification and implementation
- Act as the interface between Finance team and rest of Group, e.g. Tax and Legal teams, Group Cost Management / Controlling, Group FP&A, wider business community for the respective branches / entities
- Perform other position related tasks as instructed by Supervisor

- Provide cover for roles in other teams
- Any other ad hoc tasks as the need arises
- Some travel to Swiss Re location may be required

Personality requirements and skills

About You
- University degree in the area of finance, accounting, economics or similar
- 2 years of proven experience in accounting
- Very good comprehension of MS Office
- Advanced level on Microsoft Office (Excel – Pivot Tables, Word and PowerPoint)
- Proficient English written and spoken
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Adherence to deadlines and ability to work on own initiative a must
- Experience in SAP or Oracle is an advantage
