About the Role

If you are passionate about operational risk, controls, processes and you want to contribute in making them efficient, then this a fantastic opportunity for you. You will get a chance to talk to CFOs regularly and make yourself visible.
You will provide advice & assurance and act as trusted partner to Finance teams globally to support the 1st line of defense. This includes advising on process and control design, review of audit results, issue/findings reporting and monitoring and definition of remediation measures. You will take the lead in supporting implementation and driving continuous improvement in different aspects of the Finance governance framework. This requires to propose and implement changes/improvements to tasks and processes across teams, functions and organizational units. In addition you will review and/or coordinates work of others and contribute to projects as project member or lead smaller projects.

In this role you will:
• support the improvement of the internal control framework and risk indicator
• improve the monitoring of Financial Reporting Risk (FRR) for US GAAP, Economic Value Management (EVM and Statutory Reporting within the Reinsurance Business Unit
• make recommendations on strengthening the controls of reviewed processes
• provide support in internal and external audit matters
• monitor open issues to ensure timely resolution and closure
• be responsible for updating process documentation within our business unit
• oversee the quarterly Risk and Control Self-Assessment process and Internal Control over Finance Reporting (ICoFR) certification process
• be supporting the Account Ownership reporting process

About the Team
We are part of the Accounting & Reporting Office, a team spread across Europe, Asia and the US that provides advice and acts as trusted partner to Finance Reinsurance teams globally in the management of the Finance Reinsurance governance framework. The Risk & Controls team advises on process and control related matters within the Group risk and control framework.

We are part of the Accounting & Reporting department in Finance Reinsurance, which is responsible for the production financial numbers, the consolidation of financial views in Reinsurance for external reporting and ensuring consistency across US GAAP, local statutory and economic reporting bases.

About You
We would be happy to meet you if you have the following skills:
• University Master - Economics/Finance/Accounting
• Several years of relevant experience in similar role or industry
• Drive and motivation to assume full responsibility for complex tasks, processes or entities and manage stakeholders relevant to the area of responsibility independently
• Able to handle complex and confidential information appropriately; awareness of risks in the area of responsibility
• Self - motivated and independent; capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines
• Strong analytical skills to resolve complex / unusual / ad hoc queries
• Strong communication skills (English) written and spoken; able to steer communication across teams and locations
• Willingness to demonstrate commercial awareness in daily service provision and projects.
• Capability to challenge non-standard processes and strive for efficient solutions that effectively meet client needs plus to understand the business context and adapt deliverables to changing business requirements.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
