About the role
Purpose:
• Carry out experience studies of client's and Swiss Re's mortality and morbidity portfolios
• Promote the information obtained from these investigations internally to pricing actuaries, client managers, underwriters and claims managers to make more informed and profitable business decisions
• Support presentations and reports to clients on experience investigations to enhance Swiss Re's reputation as a market leader in Life & Health reinsurance
• Monitor SR's in force business
Key Accountabilities:
• Conduct experience studies covering our major lines of business
• Analyse and interpret findings and formulate conclusions
• Produce experience study reports
• Communicate key findings of experience studies to clients, actuaries and management
• Assist parallel functions regarding experience studies and pricing information
• Support monitoring of the in force book


About the team
• Experience Studies & Analytics team works closely with our colleagues in Business Services, Technical Accounting and Business Management facilitating the collaboration across functions and helping each other on tasks like DWH mapping, monitoring and improving the actuarial control cycle.

Personality requirements and skills

About You
• Sound background in statistics
• Knowledge of life insurance risk products - Mortality, Critical Illness, Disability Income and Medex
• Business acumen
• Ability to translate research results into practical application
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• German, French, Spanish, Dutch, Italian or any other European language would be a serious plus
• Team player, ability to work in an interdisciplinary and multi-cultural environment
• Sensitive to cultural differences
• Enthusiastic and optimistic, creative and innovative
• High degree of flexibility, independent and proactive working style
• Ability to work well under pressure and on multiple and conflicting priorities
• Excellent skills of MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Visual Basic)
• R/SAS or other statistical software

Other accountabilities:
• Perform other position related tasks as instructed by Supervisor
• Provide cover for roles in other teams
• Any other ad hoc tasks as required from time to time
• Some travel to Swiss Re locations may be required
