About the Role
The holder of this "Expert IAM Architect" position will contribute to the definition of Swiss Re's Identity & Access Management (IAM) application landscape, its architecture and its technical implementation. Furthermore, the position holder will account for the further development of our Access Control infrastructure and devise the extension of these services into Swiss Re's private and public cloud environments. Last but not least, the incumbent will have a hand in the evolution of our IAM and cyber security concepts to enable the adoption of the ongoing digital transformation within the insurance industry.
The position holder's main duties will comprise the following activities:
• analyze requirements and define the target application/system landscape of our IAM & Access Control ecosystem
• design the solution architecture for new IAM solutions and lead their implementation by our development partners
• evaluate Access Control products/platform services and integrate them into our existing infrastructure landscape
• coordinate a portfolio of existing IAM & Access Control solutions and further develop them as their product owner
• contribute to the L3/L4 support function of our solution portfolio, including the 24x7 on-call support organization (i.e. one week on-call support every two to three months)
• support the "IAM Analysis & Professional Services" function by consulting our customers in IAM and cyber security-related questions
• devise the necessary IAM and cyber security concepts for the integration of new cloud environments
• develop IAM-related solution and integration blueprints for the design of cloud-based business applications
• collect and promote requirements for future IAM service improvements needed for Swiss Re's ongoing digital transformation
• observe market trends in the IAM and cyber security space and identify opportunities for the further development of Swiss Re's cyber defense/IAM capabilities

We are a team of technical engineers and architects with a strong background in enterprise application development, IAM design and cyber security engineering. The team is tasked with the further development and evolution of the existing IAM & Access Control application/system landscape, and it is supposed to provide operational L3/L4 support for this solution portfolio. Furthermore, the team is encouraged to develop architectural IAM integration blueprints and to support its sister functions "IAM Analysis & Professional Services" and "IAM Service Delivery" whenever its architectural advice and/or its domain-specific expertise is required.

• University degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)
• more than 10 years of practical experience in the IT industry
• more than 5 years of practical experience in designing, building and integrating enterprise business applications and digital solutions
• technology and delivery experience in one or more of the following areas:
• proven track record in designing and developing enterprise business applications in Java/JEE or .Net
• practical experience in designing and developing end-user facing client applications
• expert knowledge in designing and building integration solutions and RESTful API's
• sound knowledge about IT security infrastructure and modern authentication & authorization protocols (such as Kerberos, SAML, OAuth, OIDC etc.)
• profound understanding and/or hands-on experience in building and integrating applications with infrastructure (IaaS), platform (PaaS) and software service (SaaS) offering(s)
• hands-on experience with modern container technologies (e.g. Cloud Foundry, Docker, Kubernetes) would be a plus
• tangible exposure to Cloud-based application & integration designs in one of the major public cloud environments (such as MS Azure, Google, AWS, Alibaba, etc.) would be desirable
• experience in consulting IT and business stakeholders
• adept at achieving the right balance between security and flexibility while meeting business objectives efficiently
• ability to manage ad-hoc demand effectively
• distinct customer-orientation with the ability to win trust and maintain positive relationships
• excellent communication and presentation skills in spoken and written English
• ability to analyse, structure & present complex topics in an audience-friendly manner (operations personnel, technical experts, business users and senior executives)
