Platform Engineer

Our Stargate Platform Engineering Team is looking for an enthusiastic Platform Engineer who is ready for an exciting career. We architect, develop and maintain Swiss Re data engineering backbone, named Stargate – our state-of-the-art data platform, while it processes petabytes of real-world data and used broadly within Swiss Re!

As our Platform Engineer you will chip in architecture decisions, design and development of various integrations for the Stargate analytics platform, mainly:
- Architect, develop and maintain integrations between Stargate platform and other Swiss RE IT systems.
- Identify, architect and implement automations that improve our platform.
- Secure and report Stargate availability and reliability, by monitoring the platform metrics (resource usage, performance, network I/O, etc)
- Establish and nurture constructive alliances with Stargate internal clients, and power-user communities in the business.
- Work closely together with Palantir engineers, in order to improve Stargate platform.
- Be the guiding voice for platform users! Advising and tutoring them on best practices and recommended patterns inside the platform.
- Improve and coordinate the platform access model and operations.
- Supervise, coordinate between interested parties and resolve support issues and documentation relevant topics from the platform knowledge base.

Together we empower Swiss Re's business units in developing state-of-the-art technology solutions using sophisticated analytics techniques applied to both structured and unstructured data for their business.

Stargate is composed of multiple globally distributed teams of high-profile software engineers and data scientists specialized in data & text mining and visual analytics. We also keep a tight relationship with the academia on groundbreaking research for modelling and analytics.
