About the role
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and posting journals, performing reconciliations and supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of the two Life Capital holdings companies
The reporting process is undergoing continued development and the role is actively involved in the integration of new systems and processes and improvements to existing practice.
Main tasks:
Ledger/Journal
•You will prepare and post all manual journals for income statement and balance sheet including but not limited to bank, payroll, intercompany, accruals and expenses
•You will prepare the manual payments for review and approval by the appropriate signatories
•It will be your responsibility to prepare reconciliations and investigate any queries that emerge as a result
•Support the monthly cost filing process and submissions and ensure reconciled and interact with business partner on accruals and expense adjustments required
•Support and respond to queries from various counterparts in the Group enabling the fulfilment of reporting requirements of other team's eg Payroll analysis, intercompany confirmation, bonus accruals
•Complete intercompany confirmations and reconciliations
•
Tax returns and reporting requirements
Support the supervisor in the quarterly Value Added Tax and annual tax return submission process by preparing accounting information and supplying the required information, including detailed granular data for submission of respective returns
Financial statements & reporting
•You will support in the preparation of the statutory annual report and completion of audit with external auditors, which requires close communication and interaction with the external auditors and providing the necessary supporting documents and underlying accounting schedules
•Prepare the quarterly reporting submissions for Swiss Re Group reporting
•You will support in preparing of the monthly management information and analytical reviews with Life Capital finance
Processes and systems
•You will need to make sure that the ledger is appropriately maintained to fully satisfy the business needs
•To follow controls and raise issues and risks that are identified through approved routes and support the resolution of these
•Maintain and develop meaningful relationships within Life Capital and Swiss Re
