Job description, responsibilities and duties

About the role

This role provides you the chance to gain a deep understanding of our business and the Capital and Balance Sheet management of a major legal entity of the Reinsurance industry leader. You will collaborate closely with experts in different functions that will support your professional and personnel development. You will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

You will contribute to the Capital and Balance Sheet management team's mandate in the financial planning of the company including its branches, and perform capital, dividend and liquidity analysis. You will be responsible for the preparation of internal reporting to the Senior Management and Board of Directors on these matters. You will also be responsible to provide comprehensive financial analysis and business commentaries with respect to your related responsibilities.

Furthermore, you will contribute into regulatory compliance, internal policy & guidelines compliance and you will be responsible for the assessment of related key controls.

Main tasks:
− Support the team leader on the overall financial and balance sheet management
− Support the team leader on the balance sheet optimisation and capital and dividend proposals
− Perform tasks relating to steering capital, Intra-group retrocessions, liquidity and risk mitigation decisions in close collaboration with the relevant business unit and group functions
− Support the team leader on financial and retrocession planning and monitoring and related activities as well as quarterly and annual performance monitoring, analysis and reporting against the plans.
− Support on establishing reliable legal entity capitalisation and end-to-end retrocession operational and financial reporting processes for the assigned entities
− Provide comprehensive quarterly and annual financial analysis and business commentaries related to capitalisation, liquidity, planning and performance against plans and retrocessions for the assigned legal entities.
− Responsible for internal coordination of relevant functions to deliver on the legal entity deliverables and to ensure effective financial management of the assigned entities
− Ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and the audit requirements
− Support audit activities and prepare requested information in connection with the external audit and other external parties as regulator or other governmental institutions.
− Support on key legal entity projects and initiatives

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

About you
− Minimum of 5 years of experience and knowledge in the insurance/reinsurance business is desirable
− Qualification in accounting and/or audit or similar qualification
− Experience US-GAAP/IFRS and Solvency II desirable
− Experience in financial reporting and compliance, focused on delivery and quality of output
− Proven history of profound knowledge and experience regarding accounting, capital and balance sheet management
− Strong analytical skills and holistic approach and ability to work with complex details and apply good business judgement and deliver high-quality output independently
− Ability to work under tight deadlines and on your own initiative
− Excellent command of the English language
− Strong coordination and collaboration skills
− Proven relationship builder - ability to engage and inspire others and to influence in a complex, cross-functional environment
− Strong customer focus
− Intercultural competencies and the ability to understand complex processes. Keen to learn and quickly and efficiently adapt to changes
− Highly motivated individual used to working in a highly performance driven, professional and international environment
