Job description, responsibilities and duties

With the support of a wide range of Swiss Re experts, you will help the team grow presence in the EMEA markets, securing new distribution partnerships and building innovative product solutions. You will support all aspects of the pricing and actuarial product development of new protection products.
In this role, you will:

- Analyze business performance of open portfolios
- Support the maintenance of our costing basis
- Build and develop models and tools to assist with costing processes
- Support the pricing process, modelling new products and scenarios and helping prepare auditable documentation
- Assist the production of existing business profitability reviews and portfolio analysis
- Set-up automated tools to report profitability
- Work with the wider team on ad-hoc analytical/data projects
- Test new systems and products
- Assist with business planning and projections
- Manage and support other actuarial analysts in the team
- Review and check the work of others
- Manage workloads and set priorities within the team.

About the Team

iptiQ EMEA is part of Swiss Re's Life Capital division which manages all our life & health primary insurance portfolios across Europe. iptiQ is a start-up, established to deliver outstanding protection solutions sold to consumers through Distribution Partners. iptiQ is a Luxembourg based insurer with Branches in UK, Ireland, Germany, France and the Netherlands.

Reporting to a Senior Pricing Actuary in one of our core locations, you will support iptiQ's Products & Pricing Team. This is a small but growing team spread across many locations in Europe. We are responsible for the design of life & health products and the setting of customer premiums as well as ongoing monitoring and profitability reviews.

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

We expect you to:
- Have an excellent command of English – our working language
- Hold graduate level qualifications in a numerical and analytical field or otherwise demonstrate strong skills in these areas
- Have a clear interest in, and understanding of, the insurance market
- Be proficient in MS Excel
- Have at least 5 years year's professional experience gained in an analytical role
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills: the ability to communicate complex issues to others in a clear and concise way
- Demonstrate accuracy and commitment to quality
- Show integrity and consumer awareness.

Advantages:

- Knowledge of SAS, Access or other statistical software
- Other European languages (German, French, Spanish, Polish or Dutch).
