We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Senior IT Business Analyst to join the Economic Valuations - Property & Casualty business analysis team within Swiss Re's Information Technology division.

In this role, you will work in the area of a fair value reporting system for non-life (re-) insurance business according to economic value management standards. You will be responsible for the design, development and rollout of new components as well as the regular setup and adoptions of existing financial processes.

Your key activities will include:
• Developing, discussing and analysing the requirements for the new solutions and system improvements in close partnership with our business experts and our application engineer team
• Translating the requirements of our users into system specifications, covering all aspects of the new solution
• Working closely with our application engineers in the realisation phase and ensure correct understanding and implementation of business requirements
• Performing and documenting system tests
• Documenting the solution, both for technical users as well as for business users
• Monitoring the system and providing 3rd level support to our user community
• Independently managing assigned subprojects in the areas mentioned above
• Communicate with our international user community and decision makers

About the team

We are an international team of business analysts and application engineers based in Switzerland and Slovakia. We are in charge of the business aspects in a globally used IT system supporting the business steering of our company. We liaise closely with other teams within Finance IT, Financial Accounting, Reinsurance Finance, CorSo Finance, Risk & Analytics and various project teams. Our team has a broad variety of different technical and financial backgrounds and our excellent technical expertise is complemented by a strong team spirit always striving to deliver the best solution for our customers.

Personality requirements and skills

About you
• You hold a University degree (Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Information Technology, Mathematics); alternatively you have higher professional education (accounting, finance, data processing)
• You posess strong analytical and problem solving skills
• You are a reliable teammate comfortable to work with teams in multiple locations and business units
• Your experience/skills in accounting and finance topics tasks like economic valuations would be an asset
• You have experience with IT project work
• You are proficient in MS Office applications (VBA experience in Access or Excel would useful) and SQL
• You are fluent in English, German would be a plus
• You are not afraid to ask questions and to communicate
