Job description, responsibilities and duties

About the Role
The Digital & Information Governance team is part of the Group Data Integration Service team within IT. This is a global team responsible for managing all information-related matters for Swiss Re group-wide. We are 6 members based in Bratislava and Zurich.
We are looking for an experienced person with a legal background to join our team. We assess proposals for new analytics projects, identify risks and advise on mitigation measures.
This role offers you the opportunity to work with a large number of stakeholders within Swiss Re across the globe.

About the Team
We are a friendly collaborative team of governance experts and records management systems specialists. Our team works in a fully agile manner to help business functions find a way to bring their projects to fruition in a compliant manner. Projects are technology projects involving usage of datasets. Those datasets need to be assessed by our team to identify the rights and restrictions for the usage of that data.
We work with IT and business functions to understand applicable risks in their projects. These risks are often involving areas of law such as copyright, open source, data protection, and competition aspects. We work with clients to understand the implications of their use cases and to complete our assessments. We frequently consult legal, finance, sourcing and compliance experts. We then clear use cases, often subject to conditions. We are also implementing a follow-up process, so that we can review and check that the conditions have been met.
We also conduct several information sessions for training or awareness building, so that the right teams in Swiss Re know who we are, what we do, and how to find us.
