Job description, responsibilities and duties
This position is a combination of underwriting and client interaction – two highly demanding areas that requires a very flexible approach – and you will be communicating directly with clients and brokers.
As an Iberia Fac Property Underwriter, you will be based in Bratislava (Slovakia) and become an integral part of the Underwriting Team in Zurich (Switzerland); having continuous interaction among the underwriters and line manager.

• Possibility to work with the most advanced underwriting technical skills.
• Assessing a variety of individual risks by utilizing data research and Swiss Re rating models.
• Establishing both professional and personal relationships with clients and brokers.
• Being integrated as a member of the facultative underwriting team, means as well having the opportunity to develop a professional career within the Swiss Re Group.
• Cooperation across different lines of business and cross-functional teams Interaction with client managers, market underwriters and treaty underwriters among Swiss Re staff.
• Creating innovative solutions for our clients and business providers.

• Hold Masters degree, preferably in Economics, Engineering or Science.
• Have 3 to 5 years of experience in the Insurance industry with knowledge of the Spanish Market: Brokers and Cedants.
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills both in English and Spanish, any additional language is an asset.
• Are pragmatic, solution and result oriented, with strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Are attracted by working in a very agile international environment. Travelling is part of the job and requires a certain level of flexibility.
• Commercial mind-set with strong negotiation skills.
• You are a team player, who also works independently and takes responsibility for making decisions.
• Show positive attitude, high degree of motivation and proven collaborative behavior.
