iptiQ is a dynamic and growing start-up unit within the Swiss Re Group that was established to provide innovative insurance solutions for consumers. In this position you will be joining a growing Team of Life & Health Underwriters in Bratislava who are responsible for supporting major markets across EMEA with all underwriting related activities. Life & Health Underwriting is the process of assessing the riskiness of a person in order to either accept or decline their life insurance application. This area is one of the core strengths of iptiQ. Following a period of initial training, you will use our world leading underwriting manual (Life Guide) and collaborate closely with our experienced extended Team of Underwriters to make decisions on individual life insurance risks. As your skills grow, you will also participate in more sophisticated services which we provide to our clients including product development, reporting, trainings, audit, etc.

Every day, you will be responsible for handling the following:
• Administration of underwriting cases in our systems.
• Assessment of medical and financial documents in order to make decisions with the help of our underwriting tools and specialists.
• Cross-functional collaboration with other iptiQ teams.
• Support of development of underwriting related tools.
• Preparation and support for client facing activities.
• Travel to other iptiQ/partner locations from time to time (once travel is safe again).

English - Upper intermediate (B2) and German - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

• Life & Health (re)insurance experience with underwriting skills is an advantage.
• Background in medical topics is welcome however we are happy to teach these (your interest is a must).
• You are proficient in English and German.
• You consistently demonstrate curiosity, energy and interest to learn new things.
• You have excellent interpersonal skills and are a great teammate that shares knowledge and information proactively.
• You are good in analytical and critical thinking.
• You are flexible and able to prioritize varied demands of multiple partners.
