Job description, responsibilities and duties
The erection manager is responsible for managing, planning, and monitoring heavy lifting, erection works and activities for the erection of free standing, self-supporting steel chimneys up to 140 meters tall worldwide.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Plan and supervise site activities - including determining method of construction, manpower levels, material quantities equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule and documenting actual hours worked.
•Maintain liaison with engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule.
• Monitor work compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
• Maintain liaison with other departments (i.e., Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, Engineering) to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc, support craft activities and project schedule.
• Delegate responsibility and assure its proper completion.
• Ensuring delivery of equipment and materials necessary for continuity of erection work as per charts and plan.
• Reports to the director in a regular manner.
• Arrangement of first aid and health certifications for workers.
• Prepare final report on project completion' including as-built drawings.

• Demonstrated knowledge of man hour reports, job cost reports, workforce planning and estimating.
• Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and apply design drawings, design guides, support drawings and specifications, contract documents and site coordination of subcontractors.
• Work with erectors to help maintain the project ahead of schedules.
• Excellent organizational and motivational skills.
• Advanced understanding of erection scheduling and cost control.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise 10 to 15 employees.
• Proven experience within this field of minimum five years is required.
