Information about the position
Job description, responsibilities and duties
• Manage NetApp storages as well as recovery methods for storage volumes.
• Install, configure as well as maintain storage hardware backup inclusive of physical plus virtual tape libraries or drives along with disk storage targets.
• Perform activities related to install, configure and managing SAN devices and fiber switches.
• Execute FC zoning for development and production storage volumes
• Execute across-site replication of significant DR data – DP snap mirrors
• Supervise volume replication overnight jobs and execute improvements.
• Oversee IO performance and volume utilization through NetApp OnCommand Unified Manager
• Ensure backup methods are in place
• Collaborate with DBA as well as Ops to assure apt storage usage.
• Analyze and isolate issues.
• Develop documentation in support of regular operations (operating procedures).
• Be on-call and respond in a timely manner to alerts
• Will have to work 1 or 2 weekend days a month (can be Saturday or Sunday – never 2 days in a row)

• Experience with NetApp storage environment 7-mode and C-dot as well
• Advanced knowledge as systems administrator supporting Windows or Linux/Unix-like systems is a plus
• Experience with storage migrations between ONTAP 7-mode and C-dot
• Ability to build new NetApp storages, create aggregates, raid groups and volumes from scratch
• Experience with NetBackup and CommVault backup software
• Experience with NetApp Config Advisor tool, data recover procedures – recover from snapshots, ONTAP upgrade procedures etc.
• Ability to control and work remotely with SAN and storage devices.
• Document storage physical & logical layouts for operations support as well as new projects
• Advanced knowledge as systems administrator supporting Windows or Linux/Unix-like systems is a plus
