Job description, responsibilities and duties

As Commodity Manager you provide support to the Commodity Controlling Team EU in preparing a comprehensive overview of the multiple strategies on commodity buying decisions that are to be submitted to Regional/Global Business Leaders This includes and is not limited to the preparation, tracking, review and analysis of commodity strategies and coverage reports.The scope also includes managing commodity derivatives, validating strategies, financial planning and management reporting processes.

Be a true business partner to the Commodities Price Risk Management Procurement and other Finance teams!

Responsibilities

  • Monthly preparation of the EU PNOC Financials managing spend on base commodities. Consolidate coverage reports and analyse variances vs. prior forecast, prior year, AC and major forecasts.

  • Act as the linkage between the Commodity Controlling team and the Proc. Finance EU Centre of Excellence in Bratislava for PNOC/Cost Bridge related queries.

  • Ownership of the new to scope Packaging / Ingredients coverage reporting business partner with the CPRM/Spend Areas/Proc. Finance to gain alignment of the financials.

  • Indirect line management responsibilities supporting a dedicated external analyst, accountable for the monthly coverage reporting of Oils, Nuts Quarterly Price List preparation and quarterly adjustments. Review and validate data received.

  • Prepare monthly coverage reports for Dairy and Sugar EU, required for the PNOC financials.

  • Responsible for Global Order-to-Cash tracking/reporting and partner with the Global Hedging Services team to ensure accuracy of the data.

  • Support the Commodities team on the implementation of the new commodity tool (project)

Requirements for the employee

Secondary with school-leaving examination

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

  • Strong finance controlling background, (preferably with experience in Procurement/Supply Chain related processes)
  • Possess critical thinking skills, quantitative and analytical skills with ability to interpret data and communicate financial impact
  • Ability to manage multiple and diverse stakeholders (Risk Mgrs, Proc Spend, Proc. Fin, Treasury)
