Information about the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

  • Develop finite element models of wiring harness components using commercially available FEM software
  • Carrying out mechanical load cases such as Static (Linear and Nonlinear), Dynamic and Crash for Fuse and Relay boxes, Cable channels, Connectors and Contact systems and cables
  • Development and implementation of efficient simulation methodologies that can be further offered as services to internal and external customers
  • Carrying out hardware and FEM software maintenance and upgrades in collaboration with local suppliers and international colleagues
  • FEM Simulation "Interface" between our customers, and internal FEM team/ product development departments
  • To understand customer specific challenges and develop effective solutions in cooperation with the internal FEM team
  • Presentation and discussion of results with internal Clients / Designers/ External customers

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Educational Specialization

Mechanical engineering, Materials science, Plastics technology or similar fields

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Driving licence

B

Personality requirements and skills

  • Bachelors / Master's Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronic or Electronic Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in performing FEM simulations in the automotive sector using FEM-Tools such as NX NASTRAN, HyperWorks, Abaqus, Ansys, LS-Dyna etc
  • Finite element modeling and hand calculations to determine stress, loads, and dynamics for mechanical components and subsystems
  • Ability to work with designers to optimize and present structure and mechanism concepts and designs based on preliminary and detailed analysis
  • Familiarity with structural, modal, vibration, shock, and crash test development and ability to correlate finite element models based on test data
  • Additional experience in simulating thermal, electro-thermal, thermo-mechanical load cases is advantageous
  • High degree of customer orientation, presentation, self-motivation, teamwork, flexibility, independence and intercultural competence
  • Good oral and written communication English skills
