Job description, responsibilities and duties

The position is an excellent job opportunity for a professional interested in general ledger and fixed assets accounting in an international shared service center.

Main responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of general accounting and fixed assets accounting in accordance with internal policies. 
- Resolve issues as and when necessary while ensuring adherence to policies and
procedures in the drive for exceptional customer service, operational excellence and compliance.
- Independently and diligently prepare pre-agreed calculations for the General Ledger specific topics. Follow up and monitor all opened tasks in scope.
- Assist the General Accounting & Fixed assets team in the prompt and accurate recording of financial transactions (e.g. ledger entries, journal postings, etc.) and recording of fixed assets (e.g. asset creation, modifications, depreciation, derecognition, etc.) all in line with relevant requirements, policies and procedures.
- Reconcile the relevant systems and journals, and ensure that updates are made accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support preparation of documents and adjustments for monthly, quarterly and year-end closing.
- Support customers in having a good understanding of the general ledger and group reporting.
- Solve disputes through monitoring, intervening and escalating issues according to group policies and ensuring all disputes are resolved in a timely manner.
- Conduct internal controls in regards to matching general ledger accounting to Fixed Assets and Material Sub-ledgers.

Personality requirements and skills

Experience and skills:
- Master’s degree in Finance, Business or Accounting
- Proficient in using MS Office, Excel advanced
- Knowledge of the accounting standards (IFRS) is an asset
- Advanced knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping
- English – min B1
