Non-Production Buyer - Logistics

Buyers have the responsibility for managing the day to day procurement needs of their given commodity. To ensure: :
• Maximising value delivered from Logistics services contract
• Contract manage complex and high profile supplier contracts to deliver high performance and continuous improvement
• Manage numerous Stakeholders and determine best fit procurement route per project
• Act as key contributor to the Inbound logistics Strategic Category Plans (SCP’s) and work cross-functionally to implement resulting action plans
• Develop the optimal supply base consistent with the SCP content
• Manage supplier relationships and supplier performance
• Deliver annual value added savings
• Engage closely with key stakeholders to maximise Purchasing influence and ensure alignment with Purchasing processes and policy
• Actively engage in the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process and lead reviews as appropriate
• Establish a forward plan procurement strategy for all commodities required in-market which are outside of UK centre of excellence existing contracts. This will include development and maintenance of an Early Sourcing Work Plan. (ESWP)
• Work closely with NPP UK in the delivery of all new models and future expansion plans for the facility, representing the centre of excellence where applicable.

• Construction or IT or Logistics Purchasing experience with commercial exposure
• Professionally qualified with a proven track record in a purchasing or other commercial negotiating environment
• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship management skills and experience.
• An excellent negotiator with a proven track record of successful commercial negotiations
• Able to manage and execute complex projects on time and in budget
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to converse at all levels of the organisation and with external suppliers/customers
• Ability to be highly organised and continually focus on attention to detail
• A commercial understanding of terms and conditions and ability to negotiate them (with the support of OGC)
