Job description, responsibilities and duties

Would you like to be part of an infrastructure team working on interesting projects and technological experiments? We are offering you work as technical project lead for complex software systems as assigned including coordinating the work of engineers, systems analysts, programmer analysts, technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments, all the while enjoying a high degree of independence and responsibility.

Your job will be:
• Responsible for development of control system philosophy, selection of instrumentation, and programming of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), PC-Based Human-Machine-Interface stations, SCADA or other control systems for all infrastructure components.
• Perform design and develop documents including Control Logic Diagrams, Shutdown Keys, Loop Diagrams, Instrument Indices, Setpoint Lists, DCS and PLC Design, Instrument Location and Installation Design
• Develop control system architecture for PLC and HMI systems and select appropriate hardware. Develop panel layouts.
• Develop the I&C portion of P&ID’s. Attend P&ID review and Hazop meetings with internal teams and customers.
• Size and specify instrumentation such as control valves, temperature transmitters, flow meters, gauges. Generate instrument datasheets via spreadsheet and database manipulation.
• Interface with suppliers for preliminary costing, component selection, and submittal document review.
• Troubleshoot control system control problems. Implement software and hardware solutions to resolve problems. Perform field loop checks. Commission and start up control system in the field.

Personality requirements and skills

We will be glad to meet you, if you have:
• Degree in Automation Engineering or Engineering Technology or 5 years experience specifying and applying instrumentation and control equipment in power plants, chemical process facilities, petroleum refineries or wastewater treatment plants
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as Programmable Logic Controller programmer DCS, PLC or SCADA Control Systems
• Experience and knowledge of pumps, motors, filtration, and chemical feed systems
• Able to multitask, provide direction and address issues
• Fluent English
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Team player
• Passion for achieving ambitious goals
