Position Summary:
The Client Network Team Lead manages a geographically dispersed team of Network and Automation Engineers operating over the whole of EMEA, and work in a multicultural environment with other department member spreads all over the world. The position sits in the Client-facing part of the Network tower, which delivers end-to-end network service. Our ideal candidate is an experienced hands-on Team Lead possessing a solid networking/telecom background as well as software development skills, is highly autonomous, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, can be detail-oriented but also able to expand his view onto the end-to-end client service and beyond the remit of the network tower. The candidate will be able to run the operation of existing network solution and processes, but be able to challenge the current setup by propose alternate solution and driving them to their implementation. All new deployment and solution should fit a DevNet model to streamline project work from Delivery into Network Operations (operation being design at the onset).
Excellent documentation skills and an ability to interact efficiently with peers and customers is required, as well as experience initiating, driving and managing in-event conference calls. The desire and ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative international environment is essential.
As the position requires to work as part of a regional/global team short term business trips might be required (up to 1 week of duration at a time).

Job Responsibilities:
• Be a change agent aiming at maintaining and growing the staff to maximise quality and output
• Manage the individual staff and support their career path growth (setting objective, ensuring staff accountability to them, ensuring skill development)
• Participate and sponsor operational changes through CAB meetings
• Organise the team workload, including on-call rotas and consumption of the work pipeline
• Be ready to design, implement or challenge processes to execute the higher management vision for the company evolution
• Cover the Administrative Support for the staff part of the direct management line (attendance, holidays, HR evolutions, etc…).
• Design, deliver and support (within an ITIL framework) the network infrastructure providing First Data’s high quality Electronic Funds Transfer services to our clients and partners. This span LAN, WAN and security products (Load-Balancers, Firewalls, etc…).
• Ability to design automation workflow for network tasks that are regular and candidate to move to a self-service solution.
• Be part of the team that shapes the Automation future in Network Operations and Delivery of First Data, and as such be ready to constructively and regularly challenge operational methodologies throughout their evolution.
• Work within our Client Network Engineering team to ensure knowledge transfer and implementation of designs into production.
• Drive standards across the network in EMEA aligned with other regions (USA, LATAM and APAC)
• Collaborate in an international environment and across teams (Development, System, Network)

Key Activities:
• Cooperate with customers and PM to provide solutions/designs for access to First Data services.
• Step up to support the team, as required, in its configuration of networking devices.
• Build, and implement automation workflows into production
• Foster the DevNet growth of the staff members, primarily focussing on the following toolset:
o Python
o Saltstack / Ansible
o HP Network Automation
o Web Technologies (AJAX, LAMP, etc…)
o Other Scripting skills will be an advantage
• Provide 3rd level support to First Data Internationals data communication services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve client facing technical issues in network services.
• Maintain and support LAN, WAN and security systems.
• Network monitoring and Capacity planning.

Essential Skills / Experience Requirements
1. At least 5 Years work experience in this discipline or a related industry.
2. Strong skills in producing both technical (internal) and high-level (client/external) documentation.
3. Proven ability to organise & prioritise multiple tasks on a daily basis.
4. Experienced in supporting large scale, enterprise class networks on a day to day basis.
5. Knowledge of Ethernet, DSL, MPLS, IPSEC/VPN, Mobile Networks and wireless services.
6. Automation of common tasks with Python and Saltstack/Ansible or other methods
7. Experience with monitoring systems and network monitoring tools (CA Spectrum, eHealth, Splunk, Netscout, Netflow).
8. Solid oral and written English allowing for smooth communication in a multinational team (verbal and written)
9. Strong analytical abilities with good level of investigative skills and attention to detail
10. Client and Delivery focused
11. Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills
12. Experience and flexibility regarding on-call responsibilities, as part of an escalation matrix
13. Possesses advanced knowledge to install, configure and troubleshoot multiple types of networking hardware, such as:
o Cisco Catalyst and Nexus Series Switches
o Cisco ISR G2/G3 and ASR Series Routers
o Arista Switches
o Checkpoint appliances (Gaia, R.80)
o Juniper FW, routers and Switches
14. Possess working knowledge of Load-Balancing on F5 & Citrix Netscaler
15. Experience within the Financial Services industry preferred
16. Ability to learn and keep up-to-date on new technology trends and champion their adoption by the FDC network teams.

Education requirements:
• A tertiary qualification is expected in the Computer Science/Data Communications or related disciplines, alternatively, significant work experience to an equivalent level.
• CCNP, CCIE or equivalent industry experience
