Release manager

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the release process at ESET, and ensuring that releases of new products or their minor updates (such as hotfix or service releases) are handled in the shortest time possible. As Release Manager, you will work with developers, quality assurance engineers, product managers, as well as sales and marketing teams on daily basis to ensure that all stakeholders have relevant information for their activities.

We are looking for a talented individual with previous experience in IT field and motivation to bring great technologies and products to customers.

Responsibilities:

• negotiate and plan release windows for product releases with stakeholders across the company;
• execute release activities based on product roadmap and project plans to ensure timely delivery;
• upload installers to various servers and repositories, along with the appropriate metadata, using a set of internal tools;
• prepare and maintain changelogs and release notes;
• coordinate activities pertaining to releases:

o pre-release announcements to regional offices, partners and other communities;
o customized installation packages for different markets, customers, or language versions;
o configuration and verification of appropriate license rules;
o update of documentation on the web (online help, knowledgebase, etc.);

• perform post-release verification (information on the web, download sections, product updates etc.) and facilitate resolution of issues;
• maintain history of releases;
• to act as the business owner of the Release Management process and related tools, continually propose and implement improvements.
