IT Architect - Workday

What you will do

Technical Acumen - You will be the owner of the technical architecture of Workday. This role will help with standardizing where appropriate and customizing where needed. You are responsible to make sure that solutions are build using Standard functionality and platform can be scaled for growing business needs. This role will also be responsible for design and architecture, administration, and management of integrations of Workday & the eco-system i.e. integrations into other HR systems as well as ERP systems. This role will also build high-level Roadmap to keep the application up to date.

Application Portfolio Management
You will work with IT business partners, business, and external partners to enhance business capabilities while simplifying the landscape over time, manage a portfolio of current, compliant, supported applications (workday) that the business can rely on.

Application Development “BUILD”
You will lead the technical design, development, testing and implementation of IT applications in the area of responsibility (mainly workday) through operating a metrics-based management system. You will provide internal and external staffing to meet the needs of the approved project portfolio and planned application enhancements.

Application Support “RUN”
You will provide reliable 24x7x365 application support services. You will be accountable to manage external vendor solution delivery to standard architecture and high quality and also hold them accountable to SLAs and contract. Hold team members accountable for proper, timely support of systems and restoration of service. You will lead root cause analysis of failures and ensure implementation of permanent corrective actions.

Business Alignment - You will meet with user management and staff to understand business requirements and to determine system requirements. You will work with customers to define and prioritize improvement initiatives.

Business Case Development – You will assist business facing IT in developing business case and overall project strategies including project plans for major efforts that satisfy the business needs of that functional area for review and approval by management.

How you will do it
- Provide work effort and cost estimates to business relationship and PMO teams as requested.
- Responsible for creating project solution proposals (including architecture) for HR application projects and enhancements.
- Responsible for the approval of technical solutions delivered by internal and external 3rd party to assure the development and configuration according to application standards.
- Work in collaboration with other IT delivery teams to ensure compatibility of designs and consistent delivery practices.
- Ensure design and delivery of solutions compliant with IT General Controls and SOX.
- Analyze, design and build new complex custom reports relating multiple objects and including data transformations with standard Workday reporting functionality (ex: Report - Writer, Calculated Fields).
- Create, edit and remove organization security roles for the system and provide support for issues relating to User Based Securities in Workday.
- Participate in report reviews, including understanding and ensuring security and data privacy standards.
- Responsible for overall quality of solution delivery and successful cutover and launch activities.
- Develop and facilitates strategies in the area of system, data and application integration, ensuring that interfaces are properly identified, designed, and implemented
- Analyze industry, technology and market trends to determine their potential impacts on the enterprise and specifically on HR platform

What we look for
- BS Degree in Information Technology or similar field.
- 8+ years’ experience defining, implementing and supporting Information Technology systems with an emphasis on HR applications, preferably Workday.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in implementing HR systems preferably in a global, manufacturing organization.
- 3+ years of hands on architectural experience with Workday.
- 2+ Global implementations of multiple modules in Workday (Core HR, Talent Acquisition, - Total Rewards, Payroll, Talent Management, LMS, Workforce Analytics, Onboarding, Performance Management/Goal Management, Payroll ).
- Experience in Workday implementation tools (Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday - Studio, Workday Report Writer, and iLoad)
- Experience with Web Services and APIs (WSDL, SOAP, REST and WS standards)
- Background in data transformation and analytics
- Strong technical experience with XML and Java
- Strong experience with interface, networking, and data warehousing technologies, as well as design, relational database technologies, and performance tuning
- Experience supporting applications in a 24x7x365 manufacturing environment.
- Experience delivering within structured Project Management methodologies in both waterfall and agile environments
- Experience leading individual programs greater than $250K in size.
- Action oriented, with the ability to understand and willingness to get into systems development details when warranted. “Do what it takes” attitude.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to convert business needs into system requirements.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Fluency in oral and written English is required. Multi-lingual capabilities preferred
- Willingness to travel internationally to support job responsibilities as required. (Approx. 20%)
