Our Global Compute & Storage Operations organization is currently seeking a dynamic and talented individual to fill the role of UNIX/Linux System Administrator located in our Bratislava, Slovakia office. Roles and Responsibilities:
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining servers running UNIX/Linux based operating systems
• Monitoring and tuning systems to achieve optimum performance
• Perform system analysis, configuration management, and develop improvements for system availability and reliability
• Diagnose system issues, resolve outages, and perform root cause analysis in cooperation with an external vendor
• Design, develop, recommend, and implement new or revised system software, configuration utilities, and automated processes, as necessary.
• Provides technical expertise for system transitions, migrations, and consolidations
• Configure attached SAN storage on OS level
• Troubleshooting of TCP/IP networking within the OS and network layer
• Act as an escalation point for next level support
• Support of web, database, and application servers
• Support of EMEA and APAC training lab infrastructure
• Work closely with internal customers to understand their processes and requirements and how it impacts your team
• Collaborate with peers from around the world to ensure customers are provided world-class support

Key Competencies and Skills:
• experience and advancement in technologies such as Red Hat Linux, Solaris 8, 9,10, Veritas Volume Manager and Cluster, LVM, zones, virtualization and other enterprise tools
• Open, multicultural, English speaking, engineering-focused work environment in the heart of Central Europe
• 2nd line support shared within the team, working together with and learn from the most experienced people on the field
• Time allotted for internal training and process improvement
• Direct feedback and impact on the operational processes and quality improvement of the department

EMEA working hours (from 9 AM / 9.30 AM to 6 PM)
