Job description, responsibilities and duties

Operational Excellence Manager applies Lean Six Sigma problem solving skills in order to continuously improve Amazon processes, align them with customer requirements and deliver positive impacts in controllership and cost savings.

Operational Excellence Manager applies a mix of quantitative and leadership skills to identify areas of improvement and prioritizes resources. Operational Excellence Manager drives the culture of self-inspection and continuous improvement, acts on facts and eliminates defects and waste.

Operational Excellence Manager contributes to the Finance Payroll Operations by leading and mentoring projects, conducting training events, developing materials and by providing metrics on improvements and performance of the program.

Operational Excellence Manager have a documented track record of leading projects, building rapport, and mentoring process improvement teams consisting of members of all levels and functions, without formal reporting relationships.

Responsibilities:
· Lead high impact improvement projects (DMAIC, Kaizen, FMEA, etc.)
· Support Finance Payroll operations with continued development of materials, techniques, and metrics.
· Manage a portfolio of improvement projects, including auditing of implemented projects to ensure that process improvements are sustained and benefits are realized.
· Represent Finance Payroll OE (operational excellence) in local and global meetings/conference calls and with network-wide projects.
· Mentor Green Belts, Yellow Belts, and Kaizen leaders through their projects.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Advanced (C1)

Personality requirements and skills

· 5+ years of Project Management experience
· Lean Six Sigma experience
· Demonstrated Change Management experience including the ability to work with improvement team sponsors to address barriers to a team’s success.
· Proficient in obtaining, organizing, and analyzing data to make fact-based decisions and drive root cause analysis.
· Strong process background with an ability to understand work flow and throughput through the operation
· Demonstrated strong collaborative problem-solving skills evidenced by results in past positions.
· Articulate and able to communicate with employees at all levels across the organization, from front-line associates to executives through white papers as well as verbal communication.
· Proficiency in MS Access and MS Excel Office (including advanced functions such as importing & exporting data, pivot tables, and macros)
· Proficiency in statistical packages (Minitab, Tableau or Qlik)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Lean Six Sigma Green Belt/ Black Belt Certification, Certified Lean Sensei, Certified Quality Engineer, BIG DATA etc.
· Finance Payroll background
· Courageous and willing to stand up for their ideas within appropriate guidelines.
· Understanding of SQL queries
