Job description, responsibilities and duties

We’re seeking a Senior Operations Manager to join our dynamic Reverse Logistic Center in SERED, SLOVAKIA. Our Reverse Logistic Centers/Fulfillment Centers are at the heart of Amazon’s rapidly growing Operations network: they’re where we manage our fast-moving inventory. They’re also where we developed our industry-leading workflows. Our teams stow deliveries, pick products, package them up and ship them out: each of these groups have played their part in taking us where we are today.

As you will step into your Fulfillment Center leading a team of Operations and Area Managers, first and foremost, you will need to be Customer Obsessed (one of our key Leadership Principles), working vigorously with all clients, peers and customers until a solution is reached, a goal is achieved or an expectation met – or exceeded!

You will need to build a deep understanding of our operations, while being constantly on the lookout for continuous improvement opportunities. Moreover, upon identifying positive process change for our business, you’ll play a pivotal role in implementing any solutions and changes.

You will be reporting to the General Manager, while responsible for all operations objectives, people development and budgetary for certain functional areas of our Fulfillment Center

To succeed in delivering the performance objectives you will need to effectively collaborate with your own team - setting goals and delivering required coaching - and other Fulfillment Center support functions.

The name of your game is to take an active lead in tackling complex problems that affect Amazon’s operations and customers. The teams you manage are always working to resolve just about any problem that arises during the customer journey. They’ll need your guidance to aid them in thinking ‘outside of the box’.

Together with them, you will be responsible to:
· continuously improve high standards of safety in operations,
· manage employee engagement and talent development,
· instill a culture of customer obsession, aiming for great customer experience,
· lead and inspire your workforce to deliver improved performance levels,
· inspire and reward atmosphere of best practice sharing and innovations among employees.
· manage performance of more than 1000 associates - both permanent and temporary,
· proactively engage with wider Fulfillment Center leadership in solving day to day and strategic challenges.
