Job description, responsibilities and duties

Primary Purpose:

Compliance and Financial Reporting:
• Prepare and report statutory financial statements for legal entities in the region
• Monitor the compliance with Adient corporate accounting policies, as well as defining those specifically applicable to local business
• Assist in preparation of corporate financial statements on a monthly basis, preparation of monthly closing journal entries, review of postings and prepare adjusting journal entries
Audit Coordination:
• Act as overall audit engagement coordinator for all audit work performed by the appointed external auditors
• Communicate and interface with external and internal parties on accounting issues
• Maintain good local relations and cooperation with the external audit firm (appointed by the Corporation) and with advisors
• Maintain good relations with government agencies which regulate the operation for this business

Business Planning/Consulting to BU:
• Coordinate with Tax department activities related to Tax planning projects
• Support plant, shared services centers and central functions regarding accounting/financial issues Coordinate the implementation of Corporate initiatives deployed in Region
• Support IT projects
• Support annual Corporate budgeting

Qualifications and skills required

• University or Bachelor degree in Accounting or equivalent education and experience
• 5 – 8 years job experience in private and/or public Accounting & Tax, thorough knowledge of accounting and its application in practice, knowledge of Corporate Income Tax and VAT principles
• Analytical skills
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to manage and complete multiple tasks and projects
• Computer competency and familiarity with a variety of application software; proficiency in SAP, HFM, Microsoft Office 2007 (excel pivot tables, databases processing, word documents)
• Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to work with a variety of internal customers.
• Team work, willing to learn, open minded, familiarity with problem solving and process improvement techniques
• Advanced English
